Igor is forecast to pass close to Bermuda sometime over the weekend.

Hurricane Igor, which is currently still hovering in the Atlantic Ocean has strengthened to a Category 4 Hurricane with winds reaching in excess of 135 mph.

Hurricane Igor is expected to become a category 5 storm on Monday.
A magnitude 7 earthquake has struck the city of Christchurch in New Zealand leaving damage to many buildings and a series of aftershocks has caused wide spread damage in what is being claimed as the largest Earthquake to hit New Zealand in 80 years.
The earthquake hit 19 miles west of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand.
Currently no fatalaties have been reported and only a few injuries although the damage caused has been extremely severe with 400,000 people being left without power and many building and infrastructures affected by the intial quake and the aftershocks.
Hurricane Earl, the fifth tropical storm, third hurricane of the 2010 Altantic hurricane season which was initially a category 4 hurricane, weakened to a Category 2 by the time it reached the shores of North Carolina.
The storms were still strong enough to cause power outages and some minor flooding but the amount of damage was much less than previously thought.
It is estimated to have caused damages in the region of $150 million along the coast of Eastern United States.

Thousands of people have fled the area and a couple of deaths have been reported at this time.
